Reflection and Response:
A
Participatory Installation
In December and
January, we, together as a congregation, are providing the art for the
Preston-Cutler Room! Parishioners of all ages will have the opportunity to
explore a theme, reflect, and create something in response. Children in our
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program are very familiar with this pattern of
reflection and response, and in fact were the inspiration for this project.
During the two Sundays before Christmas, the children decorated the “vine and
branches” on the fireplace wall.
We will have three more sessions in January, each led by an artist member of the church. These will take place after coffee hour, last for an hour or a bit more, and are intended for adults (interested teens and older children are also welcome!) No art background is needed! Materials will be supplied. If you are interested in one or more of these sessions, please contact [email protected] or any of the three artists. Drop-ins are 100% welcome, but signing up will help us plan.
