Featured Reader: Julie Cadwallader Staub

Julie Cadwallader Staub was born in Minneapolis MN. She grew up with her five sisters beside one of Minnesota’s lakes.  Her favorite words to hear growing up were, “Now you girls go outside and play.”  Julie will read from her latest collection of poetry, Wing Over Wing, published October 2019 by Paraclete Press. Parker Palmer writes about Wing Over Wing:  "This book is a treasure, the work of a poet who time and again has opened my eyes to my own life and the life of the world. She has a gift for finding the holy in nature and human nature."

Julie's poems have been featured on The Writer’s Almanac, published in journals, and included in several anthologies, notably Garrison Keillor’s Good Poems: American Places, and in Poetry of Presence: An Anthology of Mindfulness Poems. She was awarded a Vermont Council on the Arts grant for poetry in 2001. Her poem Milk won Hunger Mountain Review’s 2015 Ruth Stone Poetry Prize, and her poem Turning has been nominated for a 2020 Pushcart Prize. The first collection of her poems, Face to Face, was published by Cascadia Publishing House in 2010.   She lives near Burlington Vermont. You can visit her website at

Her books will be available for purchase and for signing at the event!
